Building Stability and Support Beyond the Crisis
Residential Crisis Stabilization Unit (RCSU) services are a short-term residential program providing support and stabilization for adults 18 years of age and older who are experiencing an acute mental health crisis. For some, RCSU services are an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or a transition from the hospital to home. The program is designed to assist individuals in mobilizing their resources and community support to aid in re-engaging in the community. Individuals work closely with staff to identify goals, stabilize the current crisis, and develop a community support system for continued recovery after discharge. Individuals can be referred to RSCU services through walk-ins, their local CSB, police departments, fire departments, hospitals, or other community resources.
